EARLY SEASON RIPENING - about early to mid July

DUKE – Large Berry - Firm, crisp, sweet fruit - grows 4-6 feet in height

Medium to large size, firm, crisp, light blue berries of good quality.

Large, easy to pick clusters with snappy flavor.

 Used for fresh market and processing. Yellow fall color.  

EARLIBLUE – Medium/Large Berry - Flavorful, sweet and juicy - grows 4-6 feet in height

Medium size, long, open, loose clusters. Medium to large, firm, light

blue berries.  Excellent full flavor, mild and sweet. Vigorous, growing

four to six feet.  Red canes and red fall color, makes a good landscape plant. Red fall color. 

PATRIOT - Large Berry - Firm, good sweet flavor - Grows 3-5 feet in height

Large to very large dark blue fruit. Firm fruit with excellent flavor.

Consistent, heavy producer, vigorous plant with fiery orange fall color.

Adaptable and easy grower.  

SPARTANVery Large Berry - Tops in flavor, robust firm fruit - Grows 4-6 feet in height

Very large, firm, bright blue berries with excellent flavor.  Superb for

eating fresh or in pies.  Heavy producer, one of the best varieties. 

Easy to pick. Resistant to mummyberry. Yellow fall color.

TOROLarge Berry - Mildly sweet, very good flavor - Grows 4-6 feet in height

Newer variety with very large berries in tight clusters. Very good flavor and an extremely productive variety.

Nice ornamental value as well. Easy to pick. Red fall color.

MID-SEASON RIPENING - about mid July to early August

BLUECROP – Large Berry - Classic blueberry, sweet and spicy - Grows 4-6 feet in height

Open, medium to large berry clusters. Large to very large, firm berries.   

Tart if picked early, spicy when fully ripe.

Good for fresh eating, preserves, baking and freezing. Foliage turns fiery

red in the fall. Bears for over one month. Red fall color. 

BLUEGOLD – Large Berry - Flavorful, sweet - Grows 4-5 feet in height

Large, easy to pick clusters of sky blue fruit. More compact form with great golden yellow canes and fall color. 

HARDIBLUE – Medium Berry - Very sweet, excellent for cooking - Grows 5-7 feet in height

Medium size fruit of good quality with sweet flavor. Foliage turns red in the fall.

Great for cooking, flavor comes thru well. Red fall color. 

NORTHLAND – Medium Berry - Sweet, mild flavor - Grows 4-5 feet in height

Extremely productive, high yields. High sugar content; great in jams and for baking.

Easy to grow and adaptable. Yellow fall color.

PINK LEMONADE – Medium Berry - Sweet, clean flavor with good texture - Grows 5-7 feet in height

 It's pink! Firm, mild flavored berries are dappled pink and mature to deep pink.

Moderate yieds, vigorous grower. Yellow to orange fall color.

 RUBEL – Small Berry - Full flavored, tart berries - Grows 4-6 feet in height

Tart flavor makes it a great choice for baking, jams or jellies.

True wild bush discovered in the early 1900's, highter than most in antioxidants. Red fall color.

LATE SEASON RIPENING - about mid to late August

 CHANDLER – Very very Large Berry - Full, excellent blueberry flavor - Grows 5-7 feet in height

Largest berries with excellent flavor. Ripens over a long period.

Developed by the USDA and tested in Oregon. Red fall color. 

DARROW – Very Large Berry - Slightly tart, excellent robust - Grows 5-7 feet in height

Firm fruit, tart until completely ripe, then has excellent flavor.

DIXIE - Large Berry - Good, sweet flavor; good for cooking - Grows 4-6 feet in height

Very large and tasty berries, medium blue, firm and sweet.

IVANHOE – Large Berry - Strong blueberry flavor - Grows 5-7 feet in height

Strong sweet tart, firm crisp berries. Reliable heavy producer.

Nice crop of late season berries. Red fall color.

JERSEY – Medium Berry - Firm and juicy, very sweet - Grows 6-8 feet in height

Small to medium size light blue fruit. Good in muffins and pancakes.

Yellow canes. Very productive plants. An old standard, reliable and easy to grow. Yellow fall color.

BOUNTIFUL BLUE -

New semi-evergreen variety along the same lines as the popular sunshine Blueberry.

Self-fertile (you'll get more fruit if there is another blueberry nearby-Sunshine would be perfect!).

with large, very sweet berries. Slightly larger than Sunshine at 3 to 4 feet, but still great for

container gardens, with attractive blue leaves and red fall color.

SUNSHINE -

A semi-evergreen variety which only grows to about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide,

making it perfect for containers or smaller areas. Self-fertile.

Good sized berries with a tangy flavor ripen mid-season. Colorful bluish

foliage turns purplish pink in colder winter weather. It makes a great

ornamental plant as well - try using it as a border around larger blueberries!
