AKANE:   

The fruit is round, bright red, firm, crispy, juicy with white flesh.

Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens early late August to mid-September. 

Pollinate with any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or king.

BENI SHOGUN FUJI:  

Crisp, juicy, very sweet Japanese apple. Bright red.

Possibly best Fuji-type for our area, ripens a month earlier than Fuji. 

Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens September.

Pollinate with any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or Jonagold.

CHEHALIS: 

The fruit is large greenish yellow, with crisp, cream colored flesh. 

Highly scab resistant.  Good baking apple.  Bloom time is mid-season.   

Ripens mid to late September.  Pollinate with any other apple  on this

list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King.

CORTLAND: 

Dark red, all-purpose McIntosh type apple.  Tart, tangy flavor.

White flesh resists browning; great fresh, for apple cider, cooking

and fresh cut in salads.  Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens

mid September to early October.  Pollinate with any other apple on this list

EXCEPT Gravenstein or King.

ENTERPRISE:  

Medium size bright red fruit. Firm flesh with a spritely  flavor.  Very

disease resistant.   Bloom time is mid-season.  Ripens late October.

GOLDEN SENTINEL:

Sweet, juicy, delicious large, golden yellow fruit.  Very productive

and disease resistant columnar apple.  Ideal for containers

and patio gardening.  Stores until January.  Bloom time is

mid-season.  Ripens mid-September to early October.  Pollinate

with any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King.

GRAVENSTEIN:

Large round orangish yellow fruit with red stripes. Crisp, juicy,

fine grained, yellowish white flesh.  Excellent for pies,

desserts, sauces and cider. Has a tendency to bear biennially.

Blooms early. Ripens early September.  This apple requires

a pollinator, and will not pollinate other apple trees (it has

sterile pollen).  Do not use King to pollinate Gravenstein.

HONEYCRISP:

Medium sized mottled red over yellow color. Very crisp, fine

grained flesh.  Excellent eating and storage. Keeps up to

five months.  Blooms mid-season. Ripens late September

to late October.   Pollinate with any other apple on this

list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King. 

JONAGOLD: 

Large fruit, firm, juicy, slightly tart flesh. Superb, rich, full flavor.

Finest dessert and eating quality. Will store in refrigerator for three months.

Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens early to late October, depending on weather.

This apple requires a pollinator, and will not pollinate other apple trees (it has sterile pollen):

(it has sterile pollen); do not use Gravenstein.

LIBERTY: 

Most disease resistant apple available.  Medium to large,

bright shiny red fruit. Crisp and juicy.  Good for eating fresh,

cooking, canning or desserts.  Stores well.   Heavy fruit set

resulting in small fruit. Recommend thinning. Immune to apple scab.    

Bloom time is early.  Ripens early October.  Pollinate with

any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King. 

MELROSE: 

Large, flattened fruit, mostly red. Firm coarse, juicy,

white flesh.  Very good cooking and dessert quality. 

Flavor and aroma enhanced when stored for 30 to 45 days.

Bloom time is mid season. Ripens about late October to November.

Pollinate with any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein,

or King. 

NORTHPOLE:

Crisp, juicy, aromatic tasty McIntosh type fruit.  Bright red,

large apples.  Great for fresh eating and cider.  Columnar apple is ideal for

containers. Bloom time is mid-season.  Ripens late September.  Pollinate with

any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King. 

SCARLET SENTINEL:

Very sweet, juicy, crisp pure white flesh.  Large, greenish-yellow

and red fruit.  Very productive and disease resistant

columnar apple.  Ideal for containers.  Bloom time is

early to mid-season. Ripens late September.  Pollinate with

any other apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King.

SPARTAN: 

Medium size, dark red, dessert quality apple. Pure white flesh. 

Super for eating fresh. Keeps through January.  Consistent

heavy bearer.  Very disease resistant.  Bloom time is

mid-season. Ripens in October  Pollinate with any other

apple on this list EXCEPT Gravenstein or King. 

WHITNEY CRABAPPLE: 

Round, red apple slightly larger than a golf ball. Sweet, juicy yellow flesh. 

A favorite for home canning, preserving, pickling and spicing. Bears heavily.

Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens July to August.

Self-fertile and a good pollinator for apple trees.

ZESTARI:

Medium sized, red-striped apple. Crisp and juicy, with a sweet tart flavor. 

Flavor has a taste of brown sugar. Great early, storing apple.

Bloom time is mid-season. Ripens in late August to late September.
